Sandie

Name: Sandie

Breed: Labrador

Age: 8-14 weeks

I first met Sandie when she was only 8 weeks old and freshly arrived in her new home. She was selected as the smallest and quietest of the litter. But this soon proved to be a different story in her new home. Like most puppies, Sandie soon enjoyed nipping, chewing (including the cable of a lamp) and leaving puddles and parcels around the house. Some serious routine and training was in order.

We started by introducing the basic rules and commands. She was a VERY quick learner. Sit, Come, This Way and Leave It were simple to her. She enjoyed toys and lots of interaction.

However, Sandie had one main difficulty! The puddles on the carpet were appearing every 15-30 minutes. Her owner and I decided this called for a day trip. Sandie joined myself and my Husky, Nikka for the day. She spent the majority of her day in her den and was only permitted to leave for toilet, eating and playtime. I was thrilled to report that evening that no "accidents" had occurred and she was able to control her bladder by holding it up to 2 hours and would finish her pee pee outside without distraction.

Eventually, Sandie was able to hold her bladder through the night and leave no puddles on the carpet during the day at home. She has graduated the Puppy Welcome Classes and is an excellent companion for her human friend.
